GI Memorial and Liberation Memorial

GI Monument dedicated to the gallant men and women who participated in the Battle of the Bulge, December 16, 1944 through January 25, 1944 in Belgium and Luxembourg. The monument honors the 4th, 5th, 8th, 26th, 28th, 35th, 78th, 80th, 83rd, 87th, 90th and 94th US Infantry Divisions, the 1st and 3rd US Armies, the 17th US Airborne Division and the 4th, 5th, 6th, 9th, 10th and 11nd US Armored Divisions. The monument was erected in 1987 based on an idea and design by Frank Kieffer, Asselborn. On the picture you can see a picture of 83rd veteran Leo Hury from M/330 taken by his son Thomas. They visited the monument while being in Belgium & Luxembourg January 13, 2011.
